Nowadays, packaging accompanies us with our every step; wherever we are, it inevitably crosses our path. Whether it is a conscious decision or not, we choose the most suitable products on the basis of aesthetics, materials, functionality, and many other details which are presented to us through packaging. Consequently, packaging plays an enormous role in determining the product’s suitability for consumers. Thesis research begun by structuring a theoretical framework, which included a study on paper and packaging. It continued with the development of project idea, and later started testing potential materials to find the most suitable ones. Here, the focus was primarily on the mechanical properties of paper, which had the greatest significance for the product. That ultimately led to choosing the most suitable paper bag. Vector graphics were designed and formatted with Adobe Illustrator, and the final appearance with Adobe Photoshop. All research was conducted at the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Engineering at the University of Ljubljana. The aim of the Bachelor’s thesis was to carry out a project, which would result in a final product in the form of a book of recipes. The book is displayed in wooden packaging containing precisely measured ingredients packaged in paper bags, intended for preparation of desserts. The product was designed to especially suit a younger audience, beginners, who are just starting to get acquainted with the art of baking, in order to facilitate their learning process.
