Beach handball is a sports game with a relatively short history. Development of beach handball started in early the nineties of the previous century in southern Italy. It is a version of indoor handball with many changes and adjustments such as: court size, number of players on the court, players substitutions, scoring and deciding on the outcome of the game. The philosophy of beach handball is based on the principles of »fair play«, which means that every decision has to be taken in accoradnce with these principles. In addition to "fair play", the guiding principle of this sport, in accordance to an attack with numerical superiority, is attractiveness and creativity, which are rewarded in the form of double-counted goals. The performance of specific, attacking and attractive technical elements that are special characteristic of the beach handball and counts as double goals is precisely defined. The main goal and purpose of the diploma work is to present the history and tournaments organization of beach handball in world and in Slovenia, presentation of the features of the game through the updated translation of the rules of the game and the methodology of learning the specific technical elements used during the game and their corresponding Slovenian naming.
