Abstract
Splošne knjižnice stremijo k temu, da bi svojim uporabnikom nudile aktualne storitve, kamor spada nudenje e-knjig. Nove storitve prinašajo nove izzive, razvoj pa mora biti skladen s pričakovanji in potrebami uporabnikov. Z namenom ugotoviti odnos uporabnikov do e-knjig je bila v Mestni knjižnici Ljubljana (v nadaljevanju MKL) izvedena raziskava z ločenima anketama, namenjenima bralcem in nebralcem e-knjig. Potekala je v prostorih knjižnice in bila na voljo na družbenih omrežjih MKL v mesecu aprilu 2018. V končnem vzorcu je bilo 179 respondentov, med njimi skoraj polovica bralcev e-knjig. Ugotovljeno je bilo, da si bralci ne izposojajo pogosto e-knjig iz MKL in slabo poznajo storitve, povezane z e-knjigami. Najpogostejši razlogi za branje so takojšnji dostop do knjig, raznolika ponudba in da lahko imajo na ta način s seboj vedno veliko knjig. Najpogostejša razloga za nebranje sta preferiranje tiskanega formata in pomanjkanje zanimanja. V izposojo bi bralce, ki si ne izposojajo e-knjig v MKL, prepričala možnost branja e-knjig na vseh napravah na trgu, nebralce pa večja možnost izposoje bralnih naprav. Obe skupini želita večjo ponudbo e-knjig, predvsem prevodov tujega leposlovja, strokovne literature in tujejezične literature. Priporočljivo je, da bi v MKL izboljšali promocijo e-knjig, razrešili tehnološke omejitve in zgradili čim bolj raznoliko zbirko e-knjig.

Title:E-books as a challenge: example of Ljubljana City Library
Abstract:
Public libraries aim to provide their users with current services like e-books. New services bring new challenges and development needs to be consistent with the expectations and needs of users. In order to determine the attitude of users towards e-books, Ljubljana City Library (hereinafter referred to as LCL) conducted a survey with separate questionnaires, one intended for readers and the other for non-readers of e-books. It was held in the premises of the library and was available on social networks of LCL in April 2018. The final sample included 179 respondents, among them almost half are readers of e-books. It was found that readers don't frequently borrow e-books from LCL and are not familiarized with the services related to e-books. The most common reasons for reading are instant access to books, diverse selection and the fact that they always have a number of books with them. The most common reasons for non-reading are preferring the printed format and lack of interest. Readers, who do not borrow e-books from LCL, would be persuaded to do so if they had the possibility of reading e-books on all devices on the market and the non-readers a bigger possibility of borrowing reading devices. Both groups want a bigger selection of e-books, mainly translations of foreign literature, professional and foreign language literature. It is advisable that LCL improves the promotion of e-books, expands technological limitations and builds a more diverse collection of e-books.
