Abstract
Uvod: Nevrogena disfunkcija mehurja nastane kot posledica prirojenih ali pridobljenih napak. Otroci z nevrogenim mehurjem morajo za praznjenje mehurja izvajati intermitentno urinsko kateterizacijo. Za ohranjanje ustrezne kakovosti postopka in preprečevanja okužb sečil je potrebno izobraževanje otrok in staršev o tehnikah kateterizacije. Namen: Namen diplomskega dela je predstaviti vlogo medicinske sestre pri otrocih z nevrogenim mehurjem ter pomen zdravstvene vzgoje otrok in njihovih staršev. Metode dela: V diplomskem delu je uporabljena deskriptivna metoda dela. Ustrezno literaturo smo zbrali s pomočjo podatkovnih baz CINAHL, Medline in ScienceDirect. V analizo smo vključili članke, ki so objavljeni v angleškem in slovenskem jeziku, dostopni v celotnem besedilu in preučujejo zdravljenje in zdravstveno nego otrok v povezavi z motnjami uriniranja. Rezultati: Pri obravnavi otrok z nevrogenim mehurjem sodeluje multidisciplinarni tim. Medicinska sestra mora otroke in starše opozoriti, da lahko intermitentna urinska kateterizacija kot ena izmed metod zdravljenja nevrogenega mehurja vpliva na kakovost njihovega življenja. Pri otrocih z nevrogenim mehurjem se lahko pojavijo težave pri vključevanju v družbeno okolje ter težave pri opravljanju šolskih obveznosti. Razprava in sklep: Zdravljenje nevrogenega mehurja predstavlja izziv za zdravstvene delavce. Medicinska sestra z zdravstveno-vzgojnim delom pomaga otrokom in staršem pri premagovanju vsakodnevnih težav. Pomembno je, da informacije podaja na razumljiv način. Otroci se morajo zavedati resnosti svoje bolezni. Medicinske sestre in starši jih morajo spodbujati in jim biti v oporo.

Title:Nurse's role in a child with neurogenic bladder: intermittent catheterization and preventing urinary tract infection : diploma work
Abstract:
Introduction: Neurogenic bladder dysfunction arises as a result of congenital or acquired problems in the lower part of the urinary tract. Children with neurogenic bladder should perform intermittent urinary catheterization to empty the bladder. In order to maintain an appropriate quality procedure for preventing urinary tract infections, it is necessary to educate children and parents about catheterization techniques. Purpose: The purpose of the diploma work is to present the role of a nurse in children with neurogenic bladder and the importance of health education for the children and their parents. Methods: In the diploma work, the descriptive method of work is used. The relevant literature was compiled by CINAHL, Medline and ScienceDirect databases. The analysis included articles published in English and Slovenian language, which were accessible throughout the text, and studying the treatment and health care of children in connection with urinating disorders. Results: The involvement of a multidisciplinary team is important in treating children with neurogenic bladder. The nurse should inform children and parents that intermittent urine catheterization as one of the methods for treating neurogenic bladder could affect the quality of their lives. In children with neurogenic bladder, problems may arise in social integration and difficulties in the performance of school obligations. Discussion and conclusion: Treatment of neurogenic bladder is a challenge for health professionals. A nurse helps children and parents overcome everyday problems with health education work. It is important to give information in an understandable way. Children should be aware of the severity of their illness. Nurses and parents should encourage and support them.
