Abstract

Title:Push cart development for larger slopes in straight tunnels
Abstract:
A push/hold cart should be developed for purpose of pushing a freight train at larger slopes. We use the standard components for railway wagons used by Slovenian Railways. The individual parts of the towing mechanism are determined according to the calculated thrust force. This thesis presents the operation of the system and the process of developing the push cart with a hydraulic compensating module to ensure minimal contact force. Components of the hydraulic accumulator system are shown by the scheme. The technical solution of the push cart is presented with a 3D model, based on which the structural tension and deformation analysis is performed.

Keywords:push carts, freight transportation, overcoming larger slopes, towing systems, pushing systems, freight trains
