Abstract
V naši raziskavi so vzorec predstavljali učenci šestega, sedmega, osmega in devetega razreda osnovne šole, skupno 505 učencev.

Title:Primary school students’ conceptions about birds
Abstract:
Birds are a group of animals which we meet almost every day and are appropriate for observing in classes. At primary school pupils encounter only certain species of birds, not so much those that can be seen every day. By integrating organisms to classes we improve the perception and knowledge of the pupils. The aim of our research was weather the pupils recognize different species of birds and what is their knowledge about this group of animals. We were interested mainly in false perception about birds depending on different factors. The research has been performed at two primary schools from different regions, Central and Styria. The model of our research were pupils of the sixth, seventh, eighth and ninth grade of primary school, together 505 pupils. The used technique of data gathering was anonymous questionnaire with a test. Quantitative research has showed that pupils have difficulties at naming birds, such as Eurasian jay and Great tit, nevertheless no difficulties were detected at naming Penguin and Owl. Pupils mostly had problems with classifying Penguin among birds at classifying individual species of birds into groups. In the part of the research where we were establishing the knowledge of pupils about birds, we have concluded that pupils have poor knowledge about birds.
