The main objective of this thesis was to establish which accommodations and services are being applied by school teachers and their assistants to ensure an appropriate assistance to children suffering from asthma.
To achieve this objective, there were undertaken several interviews with nursery school teachers and their assistants that already had a child with asthma in their group. The data acquired with this method provided the information about the ways in which the education staff adjusted to students with asthma. The responses of the interviewees have shown that the cooperation between education staff and asthmatics is of great importance for a successful achievement of intended objectives. The work and study processes have to be adjusted for asthmatics as well as for other children with disabilities. This is especially important in nursery school, at an early stage of a child’s socialisation. Accommodations for asthmatics are necessary in various areas; in the literature, however, various authors mainly mention the temporal and spatial accommodations, and the accommodations regarding the activity implementation.
