The thesis with the title Analysis of Motive and Theme of Poems in the Vrtec Magazine (1871–1945) is focused on the Vrtec magazine. The theoretic part deals with its beginnings and with its contribution to the Slovene literature, it presents its editors and the respective sections, the female poets publishing therein as well as the five poets who published the most. It also describes three historical periods in which the magazine was published.
The empirical part includes a quantitative analysis – showing the number of the years of publication of the magazine, the number of poems published therein as well as the number of the respective female and male poets along with the number of the respective poems published. It also covers a qualitative analysis – showing the prevailing aspect of motive and theme in all poems, the prevailing aspect of motive and theme among female and male poets along with the respective differences, as well as the prevailing aspect of motive and theme in each of the three historical periods in which the magazine was published. The thesis tries to find out the relationship between the sex and of the socio-cultural position in particular historical periods and the aspects of motive and theme in the poems.
