Abstract

Title:The creative Process in Art
Abstract:
The psychological and psychoanalytical research of the previous century as well as newly arising theories suggest that there is a common motive in the need to create (especially in art). In this work I will explore the occurrences in which the creative process in art corresponds to prenatal nostalgia and regressus ad uterum, as well as collective symbols and art motifs born from collective trauma. The text includes a short look at such examples in art history, as well as contemporary art history, in hopes of determing that the traumas are indeed collective and transcending time. I have also included an analysis of my own artistic process.
