Abstract
Izbira materiala je ključnega pomena pri načrtovanju vsakega izdelka. V avtomobilski industriji, v kateri je vedno večji poudarek na lahki gradnji, je ta izbira še toliko pomembnejša. Obstaja več različnih pripomočkov in modelov za pomoč pri izbiri materiala, ampak so v večini primerov to samo ocenjevalni modeli, s katerimi ocenjujemo že izbrani material. V tem delu smo pripravili ekspertni model, ki nam s pomočjo večparametričnega ocenjevanja sam predlaga material, ki bi najbolj ustrezal zahtevam načrtovanega izdelka. S takim ekspertnim modelom pomagamo konstrukterju s predlaganim materialom, da razmišlja izven okvirjev, saj model predlaga materiale za lahko gradnjo z odličnimi mehanskimi lastnostmi, ki jih v avtomobilski industriji še ne srečujemo pogosto.

Title:Material-selection methodology for structural elements in automotive industry
Abstract:
The right selection of material is a crucial part when designing any new product. In the automobile industry, material selection is even more important because of increasing emphasis on lightweight design. There are many different material-selection methodologies, but in most cases, these are only evaluation models that evaluate the material already selected. In this diploma, we prepared an expert model, which is based on multi-attribute decision-making model. Expert model proposes a group of materials that is as close as possible to the product requirements. With such an expert model, we help a designer with proposed material to think about materials with excellent mechanical properties, although this material is usually not used in the automotive industry.
