Primerjava Georgesa Dantona kot historičnega, literarnega in zgodovinskega lika : diplomsko delo

Büchnerjeva drama je revolucionarna, toda ne zaradi dogodka, ki ga obravnava. Revolucionaren je prikaz lika Georgesa Dantona, ki je sam sebi kontrast - je revolucionar in žrtev revolucije, obenem pa je zadnje mesece svojega življenja preživel izredno politično pasivno in uživaško. Drama ni dokumentarna, čeprav obravnava dejanske dogodke iz časa francoske revolucije, jo je Büchner priredil lastnim potrebam in lastnemu sporočilu revolucije. Avtor je bil sicer tudi sam revolucionar, ki ga je razočaral sistem in pohlevnost sodržavljanov. Dantonova smrt je edina drama, čigar izdajo je dočakal. Nastala je leta 1835, kar pomeni, da je bila še vedno aktualna, saj je bila francoska revolucija takrat še del nedavne preteklosti. 177 let kasneje se je tretje predelave drame v slovenskih gledališčih lotil Jernej Lorenci, ki je z ekipo sodelavcev v Slovenskem mladinskem gledališču raziskoval male, osebne premike, ki vodijo do velikih zgodovinskih dogodkov in se spraševal o prepletenosti zasebnega in družbenega, vplive pretekle zgodovine na odločitve v današnjem svetu, ter dojemanje revolucionarnih likov kot ponos naroda.

Abstract

Büchner's work is revolutionary not because of the events that are considered. What is revolutionary in the text is the character of Georges Danton, that is adverse to himself - he is a revolutinary and the victim of the revolution itself. He spends his last months very uninvolved in politics and enjoys life and all that it has to offer. Even tough drama considers the actual events from the time of french revolution is not entirely documentary. Büchner changed some events and characters for his own needs. He was a revolutionary himself and just as Danton very dissapointed in political systems and tameness of fellow citizens. Danton's death is his only work that is published in the time of Büchner's life. It was published in 1835, less than 40 years after the official ending of french revolution, which means that it was still very current theme. 177 years later Jernej Lorenci put on stage performance of Danton's death. He was researching the little, personal actions, that are changing the world and how one nation's history influences the desicion making in today's time.
