Abstract
Z vse večjim razvojem tehnologije in posledično vse pogostejšo uporabo računalnika in interneta se marsikdo boji, da bo (tiskana) knjiga izgubila svoj prostor v naši družbi in iz nje za vedno izginila. [...] Rezultati ankete, izvedene med študenti Univerze v Ljubljani so pokazali, da študentje kljub pogosti rabi interneta branje leposlovja vseeno kar pogosto uvrščajo med svoje prostočasne dejavnosti ter da raba interneta ni edini razlog, zakaj leposlovja ne berejo bolj pogosto. V grobem se lahko delijo na tri skupine: na tiste, katerih bralne navade se zaradi rabe interneta niso spremenile; na tiste, za katere so se spremenile v negativno smer in tiste, pri katerih je raba interneta na branje delovala spodbujevalno. V skupini posameznikov, katerih bralne navade so se spremenile v negativno smer, je tudi zaznati pojav tega, na kar je opozarjal Carr - fragmentirano in manj zbrano branje.

Abstract:
With the rapid development of new technologies and the ever increasing use of the internet in everyday life, a lot of people have started to worry that (printed) books are going to lose their place in our society and disappear forever. [...] The results of my survey showed that students of the University of Ljubljana often read fiction in their free time and that the use of the internet is not the only reason for them not reading more frequently. In general they can be sorted in three different groups: those whose reading habits did not change with an increased use of the internet; those whose use of the internet has impacted their reading habits in a negative way; and finally those who were encouraged to read more due to their online activity. Among those whose reading habits were affected negatively, I noticed the phenomenon Carr wrote about - they reported reading in a fragmented and less focused manner.
