The undergraduate thesis focuses on the meaning of the apocalypse in Cormac McCarthy's The Road. The thesis illuminates survival of ideas about formerly known society - which remain and why. Later on the research focuses on correlation between gun bullets and family members - there are three bullets and three family members, therefore it explores the symbolic value. Further on the thesis analyses "redemption" (and its possible happening) based on different philosophical views. Finally, there is a comparison between the book and the movie; the movie consistently follows the story of the novel, but sometimes a different connotation is formed.
