Abstract
Sledi razlaga zakaj omenjeni dizajn motorja oziroma rotorja ni primeren. V sedmem poglavju razpredam razvoj alternativne rešitve, in sicer razvoj samozagonskega motorja s potopljenimi magneti in bakreno zagonsko kletko.

Title:Development of high efficiency class self-starting synchronous permanent magnet motor
Abstract:
The following work deals with the self-starting synchronous motor with permanent magnets. The purpose of the work is to obtain a high level of motor efficiency. The machine prototype is based on an electric motor taken from company Bartec Varnost production line. The core of the aforementioned work starts with chapters two, three, and four which deal with the development of the simulation model. The model forms the basis for the calculations of the referential induction motor characteristics. Chapter four deals with the comparison between the simulated characteristics of referential induction motor and the measured results obtained from the Bartec Varnost testing laboratory. According to the findings the referential induction motor works as it was anticipated. Chapters five, six, and seven describe in the chronological order the development of the self-starting synchronous motor prototypes. In all three chapters the use of simulation models lead us to the manufacturing of different prototypes. The chapters five and six deal more in detail with the development of the self-starting synchronous motor with surface mounted magnets. In these two chapters is also explained why this technique is not appropriate. Meanwhile, chapter seven describes the alternative solutions e.g. the development of the self-starting synchronous motor with interior permanent magnets and with a copper squirrel cage. This chapter is the most fruitful and the measured characteristics of the last prototype surpass the anticipated ones.
