The purpose of my thesis is to present the project, where we have been working on upgrading the current air compressor station with a new air compressor. I will describe the procedure of displaying compressor values on a SCADA system from initial physical signal output on compressor. The purpose of displaying the values is to enable to read the values and to control the air compressor. The thesis is divided to four sections. The first section describes the basic compressor and compressor station information. The Second section describes a part of program I used to process compressor signals, hardware configuration and software. The third section describes communication protocols and the communication converter. The last section describes the final image for displaying values on SCADA system and the software used. I also described the company Salonit Anhovo d.d., where the project was executed.
Upgrading the compressor station will solve some of the problems with providing compressed air. The new compressor will reduce running and maintainance costs. In the near future it might be sensible to replace the rest of the old compressors and thus further reduce the costs.
