Abstract
Gradbeno inženirski objekti so namenjeni ravnanju z nevarnimi snovmi in morajo biti projektirani tako, da ne predstavljajo nevarnosti za ljudi, živali in naravo. Pomembno je, da v primeru nesreče ne predstavljajo velikega tveganja za okolje. V prvem delu diplomske naloge sem predstavila pravna določila varovanja okolja pred nezaželenimi vplivi obratov za ravnanje z nevarnimi odpadki. Opisane so osnovne zahteve, ki jih morajo tehnični objekti izpolnjevati, in smernice za načrtovanje sistemov zadrževanja s konkretnimi primeri zadrževalnikov ter druge spremljajoče infrastrukture. V drugem delu je predstavljen konkreten primer onesnaženja potoka Tojnica po požaru v podjetju Kemis na Vrhniki. Predstavljeni so izvedeni ukrepi po požaru, predstavljeni so rezultati meritev, pogled na ustreznost obveščanja javnosti in predlog za izboljšanje obstoječega sistema zadrževanja za obvladovanje velikih količin onesnažene požarne vode. Slednje bi lahko izboljšali z vgradnjo terciarnih zadrževalnikov, ki so pri takšnih objektih potrebni za izboljšanje varovanja vodnega okolja pred izlitji nevarnih snovi.

Title:Designing of containment system for hazardous waste storage facilities with the emphasis on the firewater control : graduation thesis
Abstract:
Facilities, for management and storage of waste hazardous substances, must be designed in such way that they do not pose a threat to humans, animals and nature. It is important that in the case of accident, they do not pose a significant environmental hazard. In the first part of the thesis, I presented the legislation basis related to environmental protection in cases of facilities dealing with hazardous waste management. We explain basic requirements that need to be fulfilled for industrial and commercial facilities in the case of containers and other objects where hazardous substances are stored. In the second part of my thesis I present an example of Tojnica stream pollution after the fire in the waste hazardous substances facility Kemis in Vrhnika. I present the measures that were taken after the fire event, pollution of the Tojnica stream and results of the measurements followed by an overview of the local people and general public informing about the fire event. Finally, I present possible improvements of the existing containment retention system.
