Abstract
Opredelim emotikone, jih opišem, obravnavam začetke njihove uporabe in današnjo razširjenost. V nalogi analiziram še štiri portretna dela drugih umetnikov, ki jih primerjam s svojimi serijami oziroma opišem njihov način doseganja obrazne izraznosti. Ponudim vpogled v razvoj ideje svojih slikarskih del, končam pa z analizo praktičnega dela naloge. Bralcu in gledalcu želim razširiti vpogled v sočloveka in prebuditi v njem večjo empatijo ali ponuditi nov spekter v življenjske situacije.

Title:Exploring emotional expressions through portraits
Abstract:
In my thesis I analize human emotions, the way we express them and how this affects on interpersonal communication. What does it take to understand the human being, what is the role of non-verbal communication and what is happening in modern times, when our communication uses electronic media, such as computers and smartphones, to a great extent. Facial expressions in indirect communication are thus replaced by emoticons, which may be a source of misunderstandings. I define and describe emoticons, I discuss the beginnings of their use and their today's prevalence. In my work, I also analyze four portraits of other artists by comparing them with my series or by describing their way of achieving facial expression. I offer an insight into the development of the idea of my artworks and I end with an analysis of the practical part of the task. To the reader and the viewer, I want to expand the insight of the person and to awaken greater empathy in it or offer it a new spectrum in life situations.
