Abstract

Title:Grapevine (Vitis vinifera L.) protection in ecological production
Abstract:
Ecological farming represents a form and method of farming that is gaining importance in Slovenian agriculture, since the number of organic farms increases every year. Ecological farming contributes to the preservation of the environment and to lesser environmental burdens with easily soluble mineral fertilizers and synthetic plant protection products. Grapevine is a widespread plant, mainly due to the production of grapes, wine and is adaptable to various environmental conditions. Grapevine is sensitive to many fungal, bacterial and viral diseases, which challenge the present-day viticulture. The effectiveness of protection against diseases and pests affects the choice of ecological preparation, time and correct application. Knowledge of biology and symptomatology of diseases and pests is also important for effectiveness. In the bachelor thesis, we examined the most common diseases of the vine and the possibilities of their suppression in accordance with the directions of ecological winegrowing. We have found that in Slovenia, preparations based on sulfur, copper and paraffin oil are used for the protection of the vine. Outpatient, milk, essential oils, kaolinite and propolis are used abroad to control diseases and pests.
