Abstract
Ena takih so tudi oljčne tropine, katerih uporabnost v obliki peletov smo analizirali v tej diplomi. Pripravili smo mešanico posušenih oljčnih tropin in žagovine in s pomočjo peletirne naprave izdelali 4 serije peletov – lesna peleta iz čiste žagovine za referenčne vrednosti in dva nelesna peleta iz mešanice 90 % žagovine in 10 % oljčnih tropin. Analizirali smo jih po evropskih standardih za mehansko obstojnost, vsebnost vode in vsebnost pepela. Rezultate posameznih analiz peletov smo primerjali med sabo in ovrednotili njihovo uporabnost glede na ustrezne standarde. Rezultati so pokazali potencial oljčnih tropin kot vira energije v obliki trdnega biogoriva – peletov.

Title:Usability of pellets from wood sawdust and olive pulp
Abstract:
Biomass is one of the most important renewable energy sources. Lately there is a noticeable trend that is tilting the scale of biomass utilization for thermal energy to solid biofuels – pellets. Demand for pellets is rising and manufacturers are looking for new input raw materials for pellet production. Such raw material is olive pomace, which has been analysed in this thesis in the form of pellets. A mixture of dried olive pomace and sawdust was prepared and, using a pelleting device, we produced 4 series of pellets – two series of wood pellets from pure sawdust for reference values and two series of non-woody pellets from a mixture of 90 % sawdust and 10 % olive pomace. We analysed the pellets according to European standards for mechanical durability, moisture and ash content. The results of the analysis of individual pellets were compared to each other and evaluated based on their usability according to the relevant standards. The results showed a potential of olive pomace as an energy source in the form of solid biofuels - pellets.
