Abstract

Title:
iMachining
Abstract:
The following paper will discuss iMachining as a technology used in milling processes and it will present some of the strategies used in iMachining. The provider of iMachining claims that the former method cuts the milling time by 70% and reduces wear of the used tools compared to conventional milling method. The paper only focuses on the comparison of the milling time of both methods. For the purpose of this paper iMachining technology has been applied to a workpiece by means of the CNC milling machine and compared to a conventional milling method. The milling time was shorter by 64% while using iMachining compared to the time of a conventional milling method.
