Abstract
V delu predstavimo model vesikla v cilindrični ograditvi. Model temelji na vesiklih, sestavljenih iz geometrijsko preprostih oblik, za katere lahko analitično izračunamo površino, reducirano razliko površin monoslojev in upogibno energijo. Ideje za mo- delske oblike smo dobili ob pregledovanju slik mitohondrija pod elektronskim mikroskopom in elektronskih tomogramov. Vsaki obliki pripišemo lokalno in nelokalno upogibno energijo, upoštevamo pa tudi medmembransko interakcijo, ki je sorazmerna medmembranski kontaktni površini. Na koncu predstavimo fazne diagrame ter jih povežemo s prehodi med ortodoksnim in kondenziranim stanjem mitohondrija.

Title:
Lipid vesicles in cylindrical confinement
Abstract:
In this thesis we present a simple model of a vesicle confined in a cylindrical cavity. The model is based on vesicles assembled from simple geometrical shapes for which analytical expressions for surface, area difference of monolayers and bending energy are easily calculated. Shapes used in the presented model are inspired by electron micrographs and electron tomograms of mitochondria. For each shape we calculate the local and non-local bending energy, and we also include the intermembrane interaction, which is proportional to intermembrane contact area. We present the phase diagrams and connect them with the transition between the orthodox and the condensed state in mitochondria.
