Throughout the years of development the technology of photography has made significant progress and now we can take photos with a smartphone. With just a few additions it is possible to acquire macrophotographs with a smartphone, which can also create good results compared to photographs taken with a professional camera or a microscope. How much do macrophotographs of objects differ from one another if they are acquired using different devices?
The theoretical part of the thesis provides a brief introduction to photography and macrophotography with some examples of macrophotography. All the devices and equipment used to photograph the objects in the experimental part of the thesis are also listed.
In the experimental part all the photographed items are listed with a comment on the expectations of the results. This is followed by a comparative analysis of individual macrophotographs of the same object using ImageJ software. The items were acquired using a smartphone application, adjustable macro lenses for smartphones, a DSLR camera with and without an additional macro lens, and a microscope. All the photographs of the objects, except the ones acquired with a microscope, were taken under the same conditions. The analysis shows the extent to which the quality of the photographs varies and whether excellent macrophotography can be achieved with a smartphone.
