The diploma thesis discusses research and comparative analysis of user experience by web modular configuration before buying a car by three different Slovenian providers. The analyses includes web configurators from Mercedes-Benz, BMW and VOLVO. Elements and parameters common to all three configurators were set and evaluated separately for each of them. User experience such as usefulness, clarity, modularity and simplicity when configuring the wanted car model was described by six individuals, who answered questions during an interview after the configuration procedure was completed. How they designed the chosen car model was not important. General impressions on how well known and loved configurators actually are were obtained with the help of an online survey in which 95 individuals took part. The design formulation of configurators on the aforementioned web pages was also analysed. The results are presented descriptively and graphically.
