Pharmaceutical companies emphasize the importance of cleanliness of facilities where they develop and manufacture their products. Sensum, Ltd., Ljubljana develops devices for examination of pharmaceutical products (pills, capsules...) with computer vision. The decision to make a clean room was accepted in ambition to ensure the most reproducible working conditions of the devices.
The main requirement at manufacture of the clean room was to attain and maintain overpressure inside it. Because of that it is achieved that the pressure in the room is automatically equalized to the pressure outside the room in the moment when someone opens the door. As a result, dust particles in the air are blown out of the room. The overpressure control in the room and some other useful functions are controlled by the Arduino Uno development board and a few sensors. The overpressure is generated by a fan. It captures fresh air from the outside of the room and inputs it through filters directly to the clean room.
The interior of the clean room and its furniture are made with waterproof materials. As a consequence, the whole space can be cleaned with water. In the front of the door there is a sticky doormat on which the garbage can be stick. At the bottom under the door there is a blocking plate which prevents garbage to go inside.
