Nowadays the society and the industry are facing constant changes and developments. Consequently, companies are often forced to reconstruct machines or purchase new machinery to modernize their production. This thesis aims at presenting a reconstruction of a frame structure of a circular saw used in a company that manufactures polyurethane foam. When trying to modernize the circular saw and make the production more effective, a structural element of the circular saw’s carrying construction has been removed. As a result, the issues related to the safety of reconstructed saw are to be addressed. The first part of the thesis focuses on energy methods and principle of virtual work. What follows is a detailed representation of the addressed frame structure of a circular saw and its analysis. The calculations of capacities and stress related to circular saw’s structural elements are presented as well.
