The purpose of the following thesis is to recreate Divača cave in virtual reality. Cave systems are a somewhat secluded but unique world worth seeing. Virtual reality of the cave system also has a big influence on whether someone is going to visit it or not. Due to various reasons, spanning from anxieties to other inconveniences, many people cannot afford to visit it. Therefore, virtual reality makes for a viable contender in substituting the actual experience.
The theoretical part begins with a brief overlook of cave photography, the principles of surround 360° photography – panoramas, hardware and software required to capture and edit 360° photography. It also includes an introduction to virtual and augmented reality.
The experimental part provides a more detailed description of the Divača cave and further explains the process of creating a 360°photography and virtual reality. Following that is a survey about user experience of Divača cave virtual reality.
For the conclusion, this diploma thesis showcases 360° photography and virtual reality of Divača cave. Following it is the user experience poll analysis about the Divača cave virtual reality. The product of this thesis is Divača cave in virtual reality in the form of web application accessible on computers or smartphones.
