Abstract

Title:THE IMPACT OF DIVING ON HEARING
Abstract:
The survey was carried out with the aim of determining the extent to which diving as a sporting activity can affect the quality of human hearing. With the help of a web avdiograma we have tested the hearing of divers with different levels of qualification, and compared them with norms that are considered to be the threshold of normal, healthy hearing. We were also interested if there are differences in hearing between the female and male gender. The diploma work initially describes diving as an increasingly popular sport, and then precisely describes the anatomy of the ear and its functioning in an underwater environment. More frequent hearing disabilities and causes leading to them are described. Some data on deaf and hard of hearing persons are also presented . Finally, the methods of hearing examination and the interpretation of the results obtained are described. The results of the research have shown that male divers do not have a statistically more frequent perceived hearing disability than a female divers. The results have also shown that divers with higher levels of competence are more likely to detect perceived hearing impairment than those with lower levels of competence.
