Character strengths in romantic relationships

Quite a large number of studies have focused on relationship between character strengths and satisfaction with life so far. Some character strengths such as hope, zest, love, gratitude and curiosity are positively related to satisfaction with life [1, 2]. Yet little in terms of character strengths and satisfaction with life has been researched in connection to romantic relationships. Namely, people choose partners and spouses with whom they either have some qualities in common or they are similar to one another. Since character strengths influence our behavior, we believe that they represent an important role in partner seeking.
