Abstract
Hkratno soobčutje in doživljanje različnih čutov imenujemo sinestezija. Zanimalo me je tudi njihovo medsebojno dopolnjevanje in vpliv.

Title:How music impacts art
Abstract:
This thesis explores the analogies between music and fine arts. Since both fields are very important to me as an artist, I researched and described all possible integrations of the two arts. This thesis is divided into two parts. In the first theoretical part, I explained the practical differences of musical and fine arts. Music is abstract and impalpable, it’s defined in its time and we cannot see it, we can just listen to it. Fine arts are visual, they exist in space, usually conveying a certain message. Both types of art have always been practiced separately. Since music is a completely abstract type of art, musicians always had absolute freedom when making music. Artistic freedom was also sought by artists, which is why they took on music as their model and inspiration. The musical and visual intertwining gradually led to the development of abstract painting. By definition, both these arts are completely different, but they both excite the human senses and affect our well-being. Simultaneous coexistence and experiencing different senses is called synaesthesia. In the second theoretical part of my thesis I have described individuals who have already dealt with this phenomenon of intertwining music and art. I pointed out the artists I find interesting and important for the content of my thesis. The most common way of expression of artistic analogies has been painting. The artists’ approach has been very different and I have decided to describe their different concepts in more detail on the basis of their artwork. I was interested in their interaction and complementarity. For a more theoretical and detailed presentation I used the works of painter Wassily Kandinsky. In the practical part of my thesis, I described the importance of music and its impact on my artistic creation. On the basis of my artwork, I have described various possibilities of musical reflection, reasoning and symbolic meaning. I compared my work with the work of other artists and highlighted the findings in the first part of the thesis.
