Abstract
Statistično značilne razlike (p < 0.05) v količini lesenega plavja med posameznimi razvojnimi fazami smo ugotovili v vodotokih Potok, Šentovnik, Podstenjšek in Velika Pišnica, medtem ko so bile razlike v Iški in Mali Pišnici statistično neznačilne (p > 0.05). Statistično značilne razlike (p < 0.05) v količini lesenega plavja, glede na prevladujočo drevesno vrsto, smo ugotovili v Potoku, Podstenjšku, Šentovniku, Veliki Pišnici in Mali Pišnici.

Title:The influence of the forest structure on the quantity and distribution of large woody debris in selected streams in Slovenia
Abstract:
This research has been conducted on six watercourses in 3 different regions of Slovenia. The fieldwork included the measurements of the location of woody debris (x and y coordinates) and the estimation (number) of the quantity of coarse woody debris, the description of the stand structure (development stage, the structure of the trees) as well as the calculation of the distance between the particular pieces of wood and the traffic roads. Statistical data processing (χ2 test) included the comparison between the expected and observed quantity of woody debris according to the development phase of the forest, the dominant tree species and the distance from the traffic roads. As regards the development phase there were statistically significant differences (p < 0,05) in the quantity of the woody debris in Potok, Šentovnik, Podstenjšek and Velika Pišnica while the difference on Iška and Mala Pišnica were statistically insignificant. As regards the dominant tree species there were statistically significant differences in the quantity of the wood debris (p < 0.05) in Potok, Podstenjšek, Šentovnik, Velika Pišnica and Mala Pišnica. In the Iška river the differences between the tree species were smaller and statistically insignificant (p > 0.05). When comparing the distance from the nearest traffic road there were statistically significant differences in the quantity of the woody debris (p < 0.05) on Potok, Iška, Podstenjšek, Šentovnik and Velika Pišnica, while the differences were statistically insignificant (p > 0.05) in Mala Pišnica. This research represents a good basis for the further development of the spatial models for quantity and distribution of the woody debris in watercourses in Slovenia, and the influence of the forest structure on quality and distribution of the wood debris in the analysed watercourses.
