This master thesis deals with estimating durability of dynamically loaded welded joints.
The main objective was to design a test specimen that would be used for a comparison
of different materials and methods for estimating the fatigue life of dynamically loaded
welded elements. Designed specimens were tested with different stress amplitudes. On
the basis of experimental results W¨ohler curves for both reference and test specimens
were modelled. At the end test results were compared to the results calculated using
EUROCODE standard, hot spot method and method that is built into the FEMFAT
software.
