Abstract
Raziskali smo osnovne, površinske, mehanske in tiskovne lastnosti kartonov Grafopak gramature 300 g/m2 in Kromopak gramature 260 g/m2.

Title:
From idea to the box
Abstract:
The subject of this diploma thesis is the process of gift packaging. The goal was to find the best packaging material, to design and make two gift boxes for the wedding. The theoretical part of the thesis presents the basic information on gift packaging and examples of modern gift boxes. The market has been researched in order to determine which packaging is most commonly used for boxing cakes at special events such are weddings, birthdays, and similar festivities. In the experimental part of the thesis we have presented individual steps of making a box. We have also focused on all the details that have to be taken into account in the process that begins with an idea and results in the final product. We have explored basic, surface, mechanical, and printing properties of the cardboard Grafopak, with basic weight of 300 g/ and the Kromopak cardboard, with basic weight of 260 g/ . According to the results we have received, we chose Kromopak cardboard, which proved to be better for producing gift boxes for the wedding. We made the conceptual sketches of the boxes and made a prototype of the two cake and confetti gift boxes. The technical drawing was made in the Impact CAD program. The 3D shape and the correct closure of the boxes were checked manually as well as in the EngView Package Designer program. The box graphic designs were created in Adobe Illustrator program.
