Abstract
Magistrsko delo obravnava temo Henrika VIII. Angleškega v dramatiki. Najprej prikaže resnična dejstva o vladavini Henrika VIII. (umestitev v prostor in čas, osebnost Henrika VIII., problem nasledstva in prelom z Rimom, Anne Boleyn, spremembe na cerkvenem področju, glavne politične osebnosti v času Henrika VIII., zunanja politika) ter razvoj in značilnosti zgodovinske drame. V nadaljevanju obravnava štiri drame: William Shakespeare, Henrik VIII.; Maxwell Anderson, Aninih tisoč dni; Robert Bolt, Človek za vse čase; Claire Luckham, Zapeljevanje Anne Boleyn. Pri tem je med drugim pomembno, kateri dogodki in katere osebe so vzeti iz zgodovine, kaj je v dramskih delih izmišljenega, v kolikšni meri so se posamezni avtorji držali kronološkega zaporedja dogodkov, kako so posamezni avtorji interpretirali zgodovinske dogodke in kako so prikazali značaj zgodovinskih oseb. Končni del magistrske naloge je namenjen primerjavi vseh štirih obravnavanih dram med seboj glede na vsebinske poudarke, osebe in slog dramskih del ter upoštevanje zgodovinskih dejstev. Naloga primerja način obdelave nekaterih dogodkov in oseb, ki se pojavijo v več dramah.

Abstract:
Undergraduate thesis treats the subject of Henry VIII of England in drama. First it shows real facts about government of Henry VIII (installation in time and place, personality of Henry VIII, the problem of succession and break with Rome, Anne Boleyn, changes in church area, main political figures in the time of Henry VIII, foreign policy), development and characteristics of historical drama. In continuation it treats four plays: William Shakespeare, Henry VIII; Maxwell Anderson, Anne of the thousand days; Robert Bolt, A Man for All Seasons; Claire Luckham, The seduction of Anne Boleyn. In this undergraduate thesis is discussion about questions: which events and which persons are historical, what is made up in this dramatic works, how much individual authors followed chronological order of historical events, how individual authors interpreted historical events and how individual authors presented character of historical persons. Final part of this undergraduate thesis is dedicated compare of all four treated plays each other according to substantive focus, persons, style of dramatic works and consideration of historical facts. Undergraduate thesis also compare tooling of some events and persons, which appear in more plays.
