The thesis presents development of a universal heating controller designed for controlling sophisticated heating systems with several different energy sources and large number of weather-compensated heating circuits. The controller was named Davit XL. It is based on a Samson’s Trovis 5571 programmable logic controller and four I/O modules. The controller was developed to include 115 pre-programmed hydraulic schematics between which the user can choose. The hydraulic schematics are combinations of four energy sources, hot water buffer tank, domestic hot water circuit and five weather-compensated heating circuits.
The main part of thesis presents the process of developing in Isagraf programming environment and the main components of the controller’s program code. The emphasis is on user interface development and solving problems, which occur as a result of weak hardware specifications relative to the large number of a pre-programed hydraulic schematics.
The last part of the thesis presents an upgrade of the heating controller with Scada system and the possibility of remote control. For this purpose, the Web module Trovis 5571 was selected. The development of a Web module application with software Web-Modul-Editor is also presented.
