Covid-19 is a disease caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus. Following an outbreak and consequently declared global pandemic of March 2020, Covid-19 has changed the way we live and work in Slovenia and in the world. It has had a major impact on the work of employees and has led to a number of changes that have affected established working practices.
The aim of the master thesis was to present the chosen topic with chosen methodology and therefore examine and identify how Covid-19 and the measures taken as a result of it have affected work and the established working practices of employees of public agencies in Slovenia and to compare how some of the same measures have affected the work of employees in another part of the public sector - the state administration. After a study of literature in the chosen field, a questionnaire was created.
The results of the study showed that Covid-19 had a significant impact on the location of the work commitments of public agency employees. Performance of work at home increased significantly during Covid-19. Findings also found that there has been a significant changes in the way staff communicates and that a number of measures have been taken in public agencies.
In the light of the results of the survey, it is proposed that public agencies should establish greater choice of working from home or a combination of work at headquarters and work at home, because this way of working was highlighted by employees as positive and it also increases commitment to work, which in turn leads to better results of work.
