Introduction: The growing population of elderly is increasing the risk of age-related health problems, one of them being the loss of vision. Vision impairment can lead to difficulties when participation in activities of daily living. Since the non-working population has more time to engage in leisure time, those are the activities that need to be modified. Purpose: The purpose of this diploma was to identify interventions and adaptation within the scope of occupational therapy practice to maintain, restore and improve performance in leisure activities for elderly with poor vision. Moreover we wanted to find out what the quality of leisure time activities is. Methods: In the diploma work, a systematic review of literature was used. The literature search was conducted via Google Scholar and the University of Ljubljana Digital Library, which allows access to the ScienceDirect, Cochrane Library, MEDLINE (PubMed) and Whiley Online Library databases. During the screening process, the following criteria were met: “publication period 2009 to 2019”, “full text accessible”, “published in English”.13 articles were included in the final analysis. Results: The literature review is showing proof that vision impairment link to a lower quality of life. The elderly are mostly engaging in passive occupations in home envi-ronment. They adapt activities by using optic, non-optic and electronic aids. Often they do not search for occupational therapy to help them. Without any kind of rehabilitation, the variety of leisure activities is gradually decreasing. Discussion and conclusion: With occupational therapy interventions, we encourage the person so they can maintain, restore and improve performance in leisure occupations. An occupational therapist does that by adaptation and implementation of poor vision aids. It is very important to include family members as moral support.
