The topic of my BA thesis is rotation, cycles and repetition. In the theoretical part, I focused on repetition in the art field and on women, especially as I portray them in my work as beings defined by cycles. Rotation in art is not as common as repetition.
In the practical part of my thesis, I presented my own work process and technique. Three paintings of a women's motive in motion were created. A female act performs an acrobatic exercise of a rotating wheel. Each painting represents a stage of a gymnastic cart wheel.
My thesis relies on periods of orphism, favism, expressionism and contemporary art. I followed the painters: Beatriz Milhazes, Robert Delaunay, Sonia Delaunay, Yayoi Kusama, Jasper Johns, Gustav Klimt, Henry Matisse, George Baselitz and others.
