The main aim of the dissertation was to describe the influences of training on improvement of the health of women in menopause. By the expression menopause, we designate the last menstruation, which can be determined after twelve months of amenorrhorea. The main medical problems in menopause are vasomotoric symptoms, which might cause increasement of some degenerative diseases, typical for postmenopause period and ageing. After reviewing the literature, we concluded that the influence of training on the consequences of menopause and improvement of the quality and health of the women are positive. The aerobical type of training, like walking, running, cycling, swimming and other forms of cyclical activities have a positive influence on reduction of blood pressure. They cause changes in functioning of nervous system, structural adaptations of arteries and veins, amount of fat contents in the blood and reduction of the possibility of occurrence of metabolic syndrome. The strength training influences the maintenance of bone density and muscle mass. At the same time, it has a preventive influence on the risk of falls and breaking bones in the postmenopause period and improves functionality and quality of life of elder people. This dissertation can help the training organizers to plan exercises for the female population in the periods of menopause and postmenopause and to help individual women facing the phenomenon of menopause and who want to improve their health and quality of life.
