In our thesis titled The motive of the Mothers of Children with sprecial needs in the fairy tales of The Ugly Duckling and Veveriček posebne sorte, we wanted to find out what kind of mothers appear in selected fairy tales, analyze the selected fairy tales, find the outails and differences in the fairy tale of the Ugly Duckling of two different authors and explore how the chosen mother of a child with special needs is facing the child´s diagnosis.
The thesis is divided into two parts: the first part is theoretical and the second part is an empirical part. The empirical part will be divided into three parts. In the theoretical part Will be presented youth literature, presented by the authors Svetlana Makarovič and Hans Christian Andersen. There Will be presented the chapter of The Ugly Duckling in the book of Clarissa Pinkola Estes Women Who Run With the Wolves: Mythes and Stories of the wild Woman Archetype. A short modern fairytale, based on Marjana Kobe theory, Will also be presented.
In the empirical part, which is divided in three parts, the first part analyzes the fairy tales of The Ugly Duckling and the Veveriček posebne sorte according to the feminist theory of Clarissa Pinkola Estes and the literary theory of Marjana Kobe. In the second part, two versions of the story The Ugly Duckling - the original fairy tale of Hans Christian Andersen and the version of Clarissa Pinkola Estes, Will be thorougly analyzed. In the last part, the
third part Will be an interview where we Will show the personal experience of the mother of the child with special needs.
