This thesis addresses the safety of toys, i.e. unmanned aerial vehicles (hereinafter: the drone). The test subject is a low-cost quadcopter bought online.
I checked the safety of the drone by examining the documentation concerning drone testing. I discovered that the directives and standards for such toys do not contain sufficient test procedures or instructions. On the basis of the existing documentation, I carried out tests on the drone. I noticed that the drone manufacturer did not enclose the EC declaration of conformity, so I had to use the EC declaration of conformity of another drone manufacturer.
In thesis, I carried out the tests with the help of measuring devices with which I achieved the measurement results. With these results I found out whether the product is sufficiently safe for the consumer and whether the manufacturer is in compliance with all the rules prescribed by the EU when the product is on the European market.
While testing, I also found that the drone did not fully comply with documentation nor was it fully compliant with the standards and directives.
