Abstract
V diplomskem delu je obravnavana tematika uporabe RFID tehnologije za namen označevanja vagonov in spremljanja lokacije vagonov. Veliko podjetij se ukvarja z vprašanjem, kako lahko optimizirajo svoje delovne in logistične procese. Na podlagi proučevanj tujih študij se je porodila ideja, da bi v podjetju Slovenske železnice, kjer sem opravljal praktično usposabljanje, v prvi fazi raziskali potencial tehnologije RFID za namen sledenja vagonov, ki bi ga lahko v kasnejših fazah tudi implementirali. Glavni cilj naloge je bila seznanitev z delovanjem RFID tehnologije in izdelava prototipa z nizkocenovnimi komponentami za namen demonstracije osnovnega delovanja sistema. Za železniško podjetje so navedeni tudi primerni proizvajalci opreme in lastnosti njihovih produktov. Opisani so tudi pogoji za učinkovitejšo implementacijo sistema s pomočjo standardov za poimenovanje RFID značk. Prednost zajemanja podatkov z RFID tehnologijo je izboljšanje efektivnosti delovnih procesov in možnost hitrejšega prilagajanja logističnih nalog. Podjetje lahko bolje prilagaja svoje procese le z ažurnejšimi podatki o poteku tovora in lokaciji vagonov. Do implementacije RFID sistema bo v podjetju trajalo še nekaj časa. Prototip sistema v diplomskem delu je pripomogel k boljšemu razumevanju in omogočil nadaljnje razmišljanje o izboljšavah in možnostih razširitve.

Title:Control of freight wagons in rail transport using RFID technology
Abstract:
The thesis deals with the topic of using RFID technology for the purpose of labeling train wagons and also for monitoring the location of wagons in the rail traffic. Plenty of different companies try to optimize their logistic processes. While I was doing my vocational training at Slovenske železnice, I was involved in research of RFID technology potential for tracking freight wagons. The main goal of this thesis is to introduce RFID technology to the reader and also to make a simple prototype of basic system for demonstration purposes. The thesis provides information about manufacturers that are appropriate for the railway company and their products properties. It also present main standards that deals with naming of RFID marks. The main advantage of tracking wagons with RFID technology is that it improves the efficiency of working processes, and allow a faster adaptation of logistic tasks. The only way for the company to be able to adapt their processes better is with up-to-date information about wagons location and movement. It would take some time to implement RFID technology in the company. Nevertheless, the prototype presented in this paper contributed to a better understanding of the technology and allowed further thinking about improvements and expansion possibilities.
