The master thesis discusses the systemization of knowledge in Slovenian language in the ninth grade of the elementary school. In the first part we present the changes of the concept of knowledge, the models of communication skills, the significance of systemization of knowledge and its role within the models of language lessons. In the second part the thesis presents the research on the systemization of knowledge in the curriculum, in the autonomous workbooks and in the classroom. The findings show insufficient inclusion and implementation of systemization of knowledge and ultimately conveys the reflection on two open areas: the significance of systemization of knowledge in linguistics and the inclusion of pupils in the process of systemization.
