Pavle Zidar wrote over seventy novels and consequently asserted himself mainly as a Slovene novelist. However, he also published two collections of poems - Kaplje ognjene and Čebele iz Bachov. This thesis firstly focuses on the author's life and discusses some specific circumstances which importantly influenced his later literary production. Furthermore it analyses his two poetry collections. Poems are analyzed in terms of the themes and important language characteristics which contribute to the complete meaning of the collection of poems that is also presented in the paper.
