Abstract
The parameter of rider and horse while riding different dressage elements was studied using inertial measurement sensors attached to both rider`s hips. Six riders were riding ten horses in a straight line (ST), left small circle (LSC) and right small circle (RSC). Video recording was made of all rides using stationary video camera. The start and end of individual dressage element (DE) was determined using video recordings and synchronizing the time data with accelerometer recorded timings. From acceleration and velocity data vertical distance was calculated and then averaged for all usable strides. Range of motion (ROM) was determined as difference between maximal and minimal vertical displacement value. The data were analyzed using SAS/STAT statistical package. The average ROM was 141.5±18.2 mm. The smallest ROM was observed for LSC (139.6±16.5 mm) and the largest for RSC (143.2±19.4 mm). A statistical model indicated that there is a significant influence of DE (p=0.0052) and sensor position (SP) (p=0.0166) on our data variability. A large variability was also observed between rider and horse. The analysis of the variance, for observed ROM, explained 51.9% variability with the horse and 16.5% with the rider and 9.7% with interaction between them, respectively. We have concluded that the horse exerts the greatest influence on vertical range of motion. The riding skills of the rider also contribute to a large extent. The ROM is less affected by DE and SP.

Title:Gibanje jahačevih bokov med sedečim kasom
Abstract:
Proučevali smo medsebojni vpliv konja in jahača med izvajanjem dresurnih nalog z uporabo inercijskih senzorjev, pripetih na oba jahačeva boka. Šest jahačev je jahalo deset konjev v ravni liniji (ST), v levem (LSC) in v desnem malem krogu (RSC). Izvajanje dresurnih nalog je bilo posneto s statično video kamero. Začetek in konec posamezne dresurne naloge smo določili z uporabo video posnetkov. Časi na video posnetku so sinhronizirani s časi, ki jih je zabeležil akcelerometer. Iz podatkov o pospešku in hitrosti smo izračunali pot ter povprečne vrednosti za vse uporabne korake. Vertikalni premik (ROM) smo izračunali kot razliko med maksimalno in minimalno vrednostjo. Podatke smo analizirali s statističnim paketom SAS/STAT. Povprečen ROM je znašal 141.5±18.2 mm. Najmanjši ROM smo zmerili pri LSC (139.6±16.5 mm) in največjega pri RSC (143.2±19.4 mm). Statistični model je pokazal, da ima dresurni element (p=0,0052) in pozicija senzorja (p=0,0166) statistično značilen vpliv na ROM. Velike razlike smo opazili med povprečnimi vrednostmi za posamezne jahače in posamezne konje. Z analizo variance smo pojasnili 51,9% variabilnosti ROM z vplivom konja, 16,5% z vplivom jahača in 9.5% za interakcijo med njima. Zaključili smo, da ima konj največji vpliv na gibanje v vertikalni smeri. Jahač ravno tako pomembno prispeva k opazovanim razlikam. Posamezni dresurni elementi in položaj senzorja manj vplivajo na obseg gibanja.
