Abstract

Title:Water electrical conductivity meter based on the microcomputer Raspberry PI
Abstract:
In every day life we usually do not think about water quality, basically because we can determine its quality only on its color, taste or aroma. Because water is a good solvent for preparing analyse samples, it is often used in many analytical applications. That is why it is important to know its impurity, like inorganic ions, organic molecules or bacteria, that can affect our analytical results. Due to laboratory requirements some of the standards, like ASTM®, ISO® 3696,CLSI, European and American pharmacopoeia, are made so that they prescribe the minimum water quality for all analytical purposes. For them it is mandatory to monitor water purity, because it will be used for further analysis. All standards written above have in common, that they prescribe the water purity on its specific conductivity, with which the purity can be defined. In this degree paper I have presented a conductivity meter, which is connected to microcomputer Raspberry PI. The data from conductivity meter is stored in the database that is running on the microcomputer, and it can be then reviewed, to monitor conductivity changes in water.
