Abstract

Title:Milling cutter tool life of competitive providers in machining of tool steel in the soft state
Abstract:
In this thesis a method of resistance determination of spherical milling cutter of competitive providers at milling of tool steel at its soft state is analyzed and compared. At the beginning the theoretical background of milling processes together with the tools, and in more detail spherical milling cutters are described, which were used in experimental work. Later on theory material machinability follows and its determination. In the next part a report of the experimental work follows. The aim is to determine the ability of milling tool steel in soft state of four milling cutters of competitive providers of the same geometry and material at same conditions. From the collected data, the comparison is made and based on the results the best provider it is selected. For determination of the ability of milling tools the next measurements and data we needed: surface roughness, the tool wear of milling cutter from carbide milling tools and the chip form. The results and findings obtained with experiments and theoretical knowledge about milling are presented in figures and tables with following explanations.

Keywords:milling, material machinability, tool life, chip form, surface roughness, cutting edge preparation, tool steel
