In 2016 we tested the activity of environmentally friendly substances against the Colorado potato beetle (Leptinotarsa decemlineata), wireworms (Agriotes spp.), early blight of potato (Alternaria solani), and late blight of potato (Phytophthora infestans) in potato field (variety 'Natascha') at the Laboratory Field of Biotechnical Faculty in Ljubljana. Environmentally friendly substances tested were the products Mineral green, Mineral yellow, and Mineral red. We investigated the impact of simultaneous use of reduced doses of plant protection products and products Mineral on different developmental stages of Colorado potato beetle, on extent of leaf infection of potato caused by early blight and late blight, yield of potato tubers, and the response of wireworms on mentioned strategy of potato protection. The highest yield of potato tubers (14.3 t/ha) was confirmed in the treatment with the use of plant protection products, while the lowest yield was established in control treatment (8.6 t/ha). The yield in both treatments with the products Mineral (single use [9.7 t/ha] and the simultaneous use with the reduced doses of plant protection products [12.8 t/ha]) were between mentioned yields. With the results of our research we confirmed the hypothesis that the simultaneous use of reduced doses of plant protection products and products Mineral enable the occurrence of investigated pests and diseases in lower extent, and satisfactory healthy and high yield of potato tubers.
