Abstract
Diplomsko delo obravnava otroke in mladostnike ter njihovo mentalno pripravljenost v tekmovalnem športu. V ospredje stopi tekmovalnost otrok in mladostnikov, ki želijo izboljšati svoj uspeh in rezultate. Slednje dosežemo z visoko kondicijsko, tehnično in taktično pripravljenostjo in z zelo pomembno psihično pripravo, tj.

Title:Mental preperation for competetive sports of children and adolescents
Abstract:
The diploma work deals with children and adolescents, their mental readiness in competitive sports. The purpose of this diploma work is to study the techniques of mental training for children and youth with an emphasis on modifications of techniques. We concentrated on the period of late childhood and adolescence, because during this period, competitive sport is already focused on achievements and is no longer just about having fun and playing. The competitiveness of children and youth who want to improve their results and be successful comes to light. Results are achieved with a high level of fitness, technical and tactical preparedness and very important with psychological preparation. This is understood as the control of the pre-competitive and competitive state, the athlete's mental preparation. With the techniques of mental preparation, we achieve the ideal competitive situation, which brings an even better performance to the athlete. There is not much research in the field of mental preparation for children and adolescents. Those who are, show the connection between mental training and the result achieved by the child at the competition. Through the diploma thesis, we found that the child's self-confidence and self-esteem through training are increasing, trusting himself more, settling down, and preparing for the game. Every young athlete finds his own way of preparation for the performance. Mental training helps young athletes to realize achievements from training to the competition. It increases the reliability of the optimal execution of the task or performance. The game is an indicator of the athlete's involvement in training.
