Abstract

Title:Aquaponics
Abstract:
Aquaponics is a system that combines the cultivation of vegetables and fish farming. Its main advantage over traditional gardening is adaptation to different environments, since it does not need soil to grow. We can easily place them on arid areas or degraded soil. It is an environmentally friendly method of production, as it consumes 90 percent less water than traditional gardening. Aquaponics history goes back to the time of the Aztecs. Aquaponics or chinampas as they named it were some sort of gardens on rafts placed in ponds. The Chinese have resorted to similar techniques. They populated carps in their paddy fields for better fertilization. Certainly there are and there will be other ways of plant-animal symbiosis. In the modern world aquaponics was first developed in Australia, followed by America. In Europe this technology of cultivation has only just begun to develop. The advantages of aquaponics system are huge, one of the first is certainly water consumption. The advantage is also that the system practically does not involve weeds, because they can not be developed as we do not use soil as a substrate. Vegetables can be grown throughout the year under suitable conditions. Double profit is the most important thing for professional grower, as they grow fish and vegetables at the same time and thereby earn double.
