Abstract
Iskanje literature je potekalo s pomočjo Kooperativnega bibliografskega sistema COBIB.SI in podatkovnih baz CINAHL with Full Text in Medline (PubMed).

Title:A nurse's role in the process of parents grieving at prenatal loss : a literature review
Abstract:
Introduction: The death of a child represents a strong emotional experience to parents and medical team which is with a dying child and their family. With great difficulty, grieving parents have to accept that life took away the thing that gave them purpose. They are put on a long path of suffering, where they process their loss and learn to live with it. Here, a medical nurse has an important role, because with her actions she influences the experience of death and the grieving family's path of mourning.. Purpose: The purpose of this dissertation is, with the help of literature, examine and present the influence nurses have on the process of mourning in case of prenatal death of a child. Methods: The descriptive method was used to examine the technical and scientific literature in Slovenian and English language from the field of medical medical care, death and mourning. The search of literature was conducted with the help of cooperative bibliographic system COBIB.SI and databases like CINAHL. Discussion and conslusion: When parents mourn, a medical nurse is very important, because she is among the first ones, who make a contact with the grieving parents. As little as the wrong approach, a gesture or a word can cause additional pain. Many times the health staff feels uncertain, doubt themselves and their knowledge, which all affects their approach to the grieving parents. A nurse should not be afraid to communicate with the parents and, most importantly, they need to listen and provide the holistic approach to the grieving family. It is also important that experts from different medical fields, who work with grieving parents, cooperate. With the holistic and individual treatment of grieving parents alongside the right support and understanding, they could positively influence the process of mourning.
